Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Store Attendant to join our dynamic retail team. In this role, you will be the friendly face of our store, providing exceptional service to customers while managing daily store operations. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment for customers. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers with fuel purchases, merchandise inquiries, and general store assistance.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate to management when necessary.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming environment.
Cashiering & Transactions
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for fuel and retail purchases.
- Process payments including cash, debit, credit, mobile payments, and fleet cards.
- Accurately balance cash register at shift start and end.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges according to company policy.
- Verify age requirements for restricted products (tobacco, lottery, alcohol where applicable).
Fuel Station Operations
- Monitor fuel pumps and authorize fuel transactions.
- Respond to pump alarms or emergency shutoffs if necessary.
- Ensure forecourt cleanliness including pumps, squeegee stations, and garbage bins.
- Report fuel spills, equipment issues, or safety hazards immediately.
Convenience Store Operations
- Stock shelves, coolers, and merchandise displays.
- Rotate inventory following FIFO (First In First Out) practices.
- Ensure product pricing and signage are accurate.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying inventory quantities.
- Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated products.
Store Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of store floors, counters, washrooms, and food service areas.
- Perform regular cleaning of coffee machines, beverage stations, and equipment.
- Ensure exterior areas such as entrances and pump islands remain clean and safe.
- Follow sanitation standards for food handling areas.
Security & Loss Prevention
- Monitor store activity to prevent theft or fraud.
- Follow procedures for handling suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Maintain awareness of security cameras and emergency protocols.
- Ensure cash handling policies are followed.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Adhere to regulations related to fuel handling and hazardous materials.
- Participate in safety training and emergency response procedures.
- Comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
Skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math and cash handling abilities.
- Ability to operate POS systems and payment terminals.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Dependable and punctual.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 25–40 lbs (stocking duties).
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Retail convenience store and outdoor fuel pump area.
- Shift work including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Pay: $15.90 per hour
