Job Summary
Speech Road Clinic is a growing community-based clinic providing speech, language, voice, and swallowing services. We are currently seeking a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with experience and expertise in swallowing disorders (dysphagia) to join our team as an independent contractor.
This position will have a particular focus on clients requiring swallowing assessment and intervention, with most services provided through home, retirement residence, long-term care, and other community-based visits. The clinician may also have opportunities to support clients with other speech, language, voice, and communication needs based on their experience and areas of interest.
We are particularly interested in an SLP located in or near North York, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan areas.
Position Details

- Primarily home and community-based visits
- Evening and weekend availability is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat clients with swallowing disorders within the clinician's scope of practice
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and recommendations
- Provide swallowing services in clients' homes, retirement residences, long-term care settings,
and other appropriate community settings
- Maintain professional clinical documentation
Qualifications
- Registered with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
- Clinical experience assessing and treating swallowing disorders/dysphagia
- Experience working with adult and/or geriatric populations
- Knowledge of swallowing difficulties associated with stroke, neurological conditions, surgery, aging, and other medical conditions
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to provide home and community-based services
Experience with adult speech, language, voice, motor speech, or cognitive-communication disorders is considered an asset.
Schedule & Flexibility
- Flexible, client-based scheduling
- Caseload is determined by clinician availability and client demand
- No minimum hours required
- Clinicians may choose to accept cases that align with their schedule
