WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT!

Reporting to the Foreman, Heavy Civil, the Class 1 Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of various material to and from the job site. This role involves hauling different types of loads while adhering to all safety regulations and road laws. The Class 1 Driver may be required to travel long distances, including operating vehicles on winter roads and in changing weather conditions. Accurate record-keeping is an important part of the role, including tracking and reporting number of loads hauled each day. This is a field-based position that will work on a rotational schedule where travel and camp accommodations are provided. This role will be based out of Northern Manitoba and/or Northern Ontario.

ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WE NEED FROM YOU!

- Safely operate Class 1 Vehicles to haul materials to and from job site.
- Perform long-distance driving, including winter roads and adverse weather conditions.
- Secure loads and comply with all transportation and safety regulations.
- Track and report daily loads hauled and maintain regular logbooks.
- Consistent communication with site personnel to support effective operations.
- Check-in with supervision upon arrival of destination at end of shift.
- Ensure electronic and daily trip logs are up to date and submitted daily.
- Complete pre and post trip inspections and document accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including D.O.T regulations.





WHAT WILL MAKE YOU BE A POSITIVE IMPACT?

- Minimum 3+ years of Class 1 driving is required.
- Must hold a valid Class 1 driver’s license.
- Must be able to provide a copy of a Driver’s Abstract.
- Must be able to drive for extended periods of time; within provincial standards.
- Experience driving Tandem trucks is required.
- Experience hauling various types of materials will be considered an asset.
- Experience hauling construction equipment will be considered an asset.
- Experience hauling multi-axle configurations will be considered an asset.
- Experience driving on winter roads will be considered an asset.
- Experience driving in various weather conditions will be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written are required.
- Must always keep safety a top priority.
