About the Clients:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for an elderly couple in Hillsburg. Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in May and is currently in palliative care. She's visually and hearing impaired but remains engaged and enjoys board games and spending time with the family dog. Dad needs support with daily routines and tends not to eat unless someone prepares meals for him. Both parents are former farmers with a practical, down-to-earth approach to life. They value consistency and are new to receiving qualified care. The family has a friendly dog who is important to mom's quality of life.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve lunch around noon for both parents
- Encourage and support dad to eat regular meals
- Light housekeeping including tidying, wiping counters, and dishes
- Weekly tasks such as vacuuming and laundry as needed
- Prepare dinner or have it ready to serve by 5:30 PM
- Assist mom with walks with the dog when she's able
- Provide companionship including playing board games with mom
- Medication reminders and assistance as needed
- Support with mobility aids (walker/wheelchair)
- Accommodate rest periods in the afternoon when parents nap

What We're Looking For:

- Someone who makes clients feel comfortable and at ease
- Calm, patient demeanor with elderly clients
- Reliable and consistent presence
- Takes initiative without needing constant direction
- Clear communication with family members
- Experience with palliative care preferred
- Comfortable with visual and hearing impairments




- Dog-friendly and comfortable with pets in the home
- Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously
- Valid driver's license for occasional errands
- English speaking

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, approximately 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM (4 hours daily). The family is open to starting with a reduced schedule initially to allow for adjustment and may increase hours as needs evolve. Consistency with the same caregiver each week is essential for building trust and routine with the parents.
