About Nīzu Café:
Nīzu Café is a fast-growing Japanese-inspired café recognized for its dedication to quality and excellence in pastries and yoshoku-style cuisine. We are expanding our pastry program and are looking for a dedicated Pastry Assistant to grow with us.

Role Overview:
The Pastry Assistant will support the execution of daily pastry production, prep, finishing, and service. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about baking, precise craftsmanship, and working in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in daily preparation and baking of pastry menu items (e.g., cookies, cakes, roll cakes, chiffon, Japanese cheesecake, )
- Weigh, scale, mix, bake, assemble, glaze, and finish pastries with attention to detail
- Follow and maintain recipes, plating standards, and portion control
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment
- Support inventory rotation, labeling, and prep lists
- Work efficiently to meet daily production timelines

Qualifications:





- Completion of pastry school or equivalent formal pastry training (required)
- Experience in a professional bakery or restaurant kitchen preferred (1–2 years ideal, but open to talent with strong foundational skills)
- Strong understanding of pastry fundamentals: pâte à choux, custards, cake production, mousses, creams, glazes etc.
- An Interest in using Japanese ingredients and clean, refined presentation
- Ability to work clean, organized, and efficiently
- Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn and grow with the team
- Full-time availability, including weekends and early mornings

Pay: $18.80-$22.00 per hour
