The opportunity

Metro Testing + Engineering is one of the busiest and largest Construction Materials Testing Lab is Western Canada.

We are looking for co-op students to join our testing office in Campbell River. Our field concrete testing technicians visit multiple job sites daily and conduct testing before pouring the concrete. If you love to be on the road and meeting people, it could be your next prospect.

Who we are

Metro Testing + Engineering is one of the largest materials testing companies in Western Canada with 11 offices and over 250 employees. We work with a lot of high-profile clients in their residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

What you will be doing

- Test concrete before the pour and ensure they meet the specifications and industry standards
- Interpret the test results and to produce reports
- Building relationship with site personnel to foster long term business collaboration
- Travelling to job sites in Campbell River and the surrounding areas.

What you will get





- Hourly wage starts at $21/hr for CCIL certified technicians and $23/hr for people required training.
- Mileage allowance for work related travel

Who we are looking for

- Interested in career in the Construction Materials Testing industry
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Good command of the English language.
- Ability to lift and control weights up to 23 kgs / 50 lbs
- Experience as an General Labour/assistant is an asset
- Graduate of a civil engineering diploma/certificate program is an asset
