About the Role:

A Welder/Pipefitter is responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing piping systems for commercial/industrial plumbing and heating projects. The Welder/Pipefitter will work primarily on job sites and in-shop as required, reading drawings, fitting and welding pipe to spec, and ensuring every job meets code and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

- Fabricate, fit, and weld pipe systems (steel, stainless, and other materials as required) using MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications to determine layout and materials.
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems for heating, plumbing, and mechanical applications.




- Perform pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and bending as needed.
- Inspect completed work for quality, alignment, and adherence to code (CSA, ASME, and local building codes).
- Troubleshoot and resolve fitting or system issues on-site.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with site safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project leads, apprentices, and other trades to keep projects on schedule.
- Complete accurate documentation, including weld logs and job reports, as required.
- Other responsibilities or directives as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

- Journeyperson certification as a Welder/Pipefitter (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent combination of welding and pipefitting certification
- Valid welding tickets/certifications relevant to the materials and processes used (CWB certification is an asset)
- Capacity to weld 6G SMAW
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial/industrial pipefitting and welding
- Strong blueprint and isometric drawing reading skills
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and safety standards (CSA, ASME, WHMIS, OHSA)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces or at heights as needed
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail




- Experience with plumbing and mechanical piping systems
- Working at heights (WAH) and other site safety certifications
- Team player who can work independently and efficiently in a quick-paced environment
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

Experience:

- commercial/industrial welding and pipefitting: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- 6G SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) certification (required)
- CWB certification (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
- Journeyperson Welder/Pipefitter or equivalent (required)
