Canadian Tire Burnaby is looking for dependable and hardworking Seasonal Automotive Shop Assistants to join our Automotive Service Centre during the busy tire season.

This is a hands-on position supporting our Licensed Automotive Technicians and Apprentices. The successful candidate will assist with daily shop operations, basic automotive services, inventory management, and general shop duties. Successful seasonal employees may be considered for permanent employment and future apprenticeship opportunities based on performance and business needs. Preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled in an automotive apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

· Support Licensed Automotive Technicians and Apprentices with day-to-day shop operations.

· Remove, install, repair, rotate, and balance tires.

· Perform oil and filter changes.

· Pick and deliver parts and supplies, including oil filters, tires, batteries, and other automotive products.

· Move customer vehicles safely in and out of the shop.

· Drive the company 3-ton truck to transport tires, between the store and our off-site warehouse.

· Receive, organize, and put away tires, parts, and shop inventory.

· Assist with seasonal tire storage.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including general shop clean-up duties.





· Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Qualifications

· Valid driver's license (required).

· Comfortable driving a 3-ton truck.

· Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

· Strong work ethics and a positive attitude.

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.

· Previous automotive, warehouse, tire, or labour experience is an asset but not required.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Ability to lift and carry tires, automotive parts, and other heavy products throughout the day.

· Comfortable performing physically demanding work in a busy shop environment.

Schedule

· Full time.
