Our client is a mid-sized engineering firm headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with an additional office located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Specializing in engineering, design, project management, and procurement services, they deliver full-service EPCM solutions to clients across the Canadian and international oil and gas sectors.
Their focus and experience have been on pipelines and upstream facilities, now expanding their projects into current areas including lithium and plastic pyrolysis.

Purpose of the Position:
The EI&C; Manager will be responsible for providing expertise and leadership in the execution of multiple oil and gas electrical and instrumentation projects. The EI&C; manager will manage a personnel team consisting of Electrical Engineers, Instrumentation Technicians and Electrical Designers and Drafters. This role requires managerial functions such as recruiting, work planning, staff performance management and technical functions like mentoring, engineering and design and project planning in all phases of a project.
Responsibilities:
· Developing and applying project management and technical competencies relating to the EI&C; department while coordinating and leading all day-to-day operating functions
· Prioritize and assign tasks to personnel to ensure successful, timely and profitable execution of projects
· Provide technical guidance and review key project documents produced by the EI&C; department,
including QC of electrical drawings
· Build and maintain trusted working relationships with clients and vendors
· Participate in design reviews, HAZOP meetings and attend weekly client meetings
· Actively identify client needs and opportunities to provide solutions
· Review work hour estimates for projects and ensure budgets and schedules are adhered to
· Prepare proposals and tender responses, including estimates and electrical scope
· Ensure consistency and integrity of electrical design throughout the project
· Provide technical field support during construction
· Business development through successful execution and awareness of additional opportunities
· Ongoing leadership and mentoring to junior employees and overall team building
· Maintain effective communication between all departments
· Support Engineering’s HSE initiatives
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 10+ years of engineering experience within a Canadian Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls capacity with a minimum 5 years of experience as a Department Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Experience working in an EPCM environment is considered an asset
- Professional engineer registered or eligible for registry with APEGA
- Good sense of construction schedule and timing
- Proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
- Familiarity with Canadian Electric Code, all federal/provincial safety policies and procedures required
- Working knowledge and proficiency with CSA, CEC, NEC, IEEE, API, and other accepted industry Codes and Standards
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent organizational, project management and teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications and presentations
