Position: On Road Heavy Equipment Technician

Cascade Carriers is well known in the bulk transportation industry with terminals in Calgary and Sherwood Park. We utilize specialized trailers, operating one of the largest fleets of Pneumatic Dry Bulk Trailers in Western Canada, providing service to Customers in the Ready-Mix and the Oil and Natural Gas Industry.
We are accepting applications for a dependable and enthusiastic On Road Heavy Equipment Technician based out of Sherwood Park, AB.

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on company fleet vehicles to minimize downtime and maximize equipment utilization.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, and truck/trailer component issues and complete repairs efficiently.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry maintenance practices, equipment technologies, and safety regulations.
- Complete Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections (CVIP License preferred).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Follow safe work practices and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to provide and receive assistance as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and quality control standards.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Complete work orders in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Employees may be asked to perform other company related duties (as assigned) that fall within the team leader’s discretion.
Qualifications:
- Licensed mechanic with minimum 2 years’ experience operating on heavy equipment, red seal preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis throughout the shift.
- Must be capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to complete all required training (WHMIS, TDG, Forklift, Confined Space, Fall Protection, etc.)
- Willing to work in a team atmosphere and independently
- Detailed and versatile approach to work assignments
- Leads by example with integrity
- CVIP License Preferred
- Must have your own tools and transportation required.
This position is a safety sensitive position and the successful candidate must complete a mandatory pre-employment screening.
There is no relocation assistance provided for this role. This role does not qualify for LMIA under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
