Island Installation Inc. is currently seeking Journeyman and Experienced Apprentice Welders and Ironworkers to join our growing team. If you take pride in quality workmanship, value safety, and enjoy working on challenging commercial and industrial steel projects, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

- Erect structural steel according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Safely operate power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment.
- Operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs).
- Install rigging, structural steel components, and related systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical documents.
- Work closely with the Site Foreman to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Ironworker or Welder certification is considered a strong asset. Wages are based on experience and Red Seal certification.
- Experienced Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
- Current Fall Protection certification.
- Current Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certification.
- Current CSTS and WHMIS certification.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial construction sites.




- Comfortable working at heights on structural steel and from elevated work platforms.
- Knowledge of crane signals, rigging practices, and lifting equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Willingness to travel to both local and out-of-town projects and work overtime when required.
