Job Summary
BrainLab Psychology Group is a growing multidisciplinary psychology and mental-health practice providing high-quality assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults. We are currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team as an independent contractor and provide virtual mental-health services to clients across Ontario.
This position is ideal for an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in mental-health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychopharmacological management. We are looking for a clinician who is comfortable practising with a high degree of professional autonomy while collaborating with psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, and other members of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
The Nurse Practitioner will primarily work with clients presenting with concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and other common mental-health conditions. Depending on the clinician's scope of practice and experience, referrals may include both new diagnostic consultations and ongoing medication management.
The position is fully virtual, with scheduling and caseload structured around the clinician's availability and client demand.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual mental-health assessments with children, adolescents, and adults within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice
- Evaluate presenting concerns, psychiatric symptoms, relevant medical history, medication history, psychosocial factors, and functional impairment
- Diagnose and manage mental-health conditions within scope of practice and professional competence
- Develop individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans
- Initiate, monitor, and adjust pharmacological treatment when clinically appropriate
- Provide ongoing medication-management and mental-health follow-up appointments
- Monitor treatment response, adverse effects, adherence, and relevant clinical risk factors
- Order and review appropriate investigations when clinically indicated and within scope of practice
- Provide psychoeducation regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and relevant behavioural or lifestyle considerations
- Identify situations requiring referral to psychiatry, primary care, emergency services, or other specialized services
- Maintain clear, comprehensive, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, parents or caregivers when appropriate, referring providers, pharmacies, and other members of the client's healthcare team
- Collaborate with psychologists and other BrainLab clinicians when clients are receiving multidisciplinary services
- Contribute to coordinated care following psychological or psychodiagnostic assessments when appropriate
- Maintain appropriate clinical boundaries and exercise sound professional judgment in a virtual-care environment
- Adhere to all applicable professional, ethical, privacy, documentation, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario and authorization to practise independently within the applicant's professional scope
- Demonstrated experience providing mental-health assessment and treatment
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications commonly used in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depressive disorders, and other common mental-health conditions
- Experience with diagnostic assessment, medication initiation, titration, monitoring, and ongoing treatment management
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize presentations requiring a higher level of care or specialist consultation
- Comfortable working independently and making clinical decisions within professional scope and competence
- Strong documentation, organization, and case-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable providing care through secure virtual platforms
- Able to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary practice while maintaining independent clinical responsibility for Nurse Practitioner services
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Several years of Nurse Practitioner experience, particularly in mental health
- Experience assessing and treating ADHD across the lifespan
- Experience working with children and adolescents in addition to adults
- Experience with anxiety, mood, trauma-related, and neurodevelopmental presentations
- Experience working alongside psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, or other mental-health professionals
- Previous experience in private practice, outpatient mental health, psychiatry, community mental health, or a comparable clinical setting
- Experience providing virtual mental-health care
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to provide Nurse Practitioner services to clients located in Ontario
- Must maintain all required professional registration, liability coverage, and other requirements associated with independent clinical practice
- Reliable access to an appropriate private setting for confidential virtual appointments
- Reliable high-speed internet and ability to use electronic clinical systems effectively
- Commitment to timely documentation and responsive communication regarding shared clients
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, evidence-informed practice, and high-quality client care
