Shop Mechanic/ Technician

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Technician will be responsible for performing routine repairs on equipment and machinery on a daily basis. The Shop Technician must communicate well with the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Service Writer and Parts Room Clerk.

Responsibilities

Ø Effective and appropriate communication with Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Parts Room Clerk and Service Writer on a timely basis

Ø Maintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to all safety procedures

Ø Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed

Ø Perform repairs on equipment; independently, with little or no supervision

Ø Maintain mechanical condition of equipment

Ø Maintain positive working relationships with all managers and fellow-employees

Ø Additional duties/special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Ø Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED

Ø Aerial and general tools background preferred but not required

Ø Experience working with large equipment such as Genie, JLG, Bobcat, Skyjack, John Deere equipment and smaller equipment such as generator, compressors, welders, chainsaws and pneumatic tools

Ø Trade school training an asset

Ø Manufacturer – sponsored training preferred but not required

Ø Related maintenance experience such as automotive mechanic a plus

Ø Ability to read, analyze and interpret service data and schematics





Ø Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously

Ø Valuable communication and interpersonal skills

Ø Previous experience and/or knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles and equipment

Ø Advanced Mechanical aptitude

Ø Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Ø Able to handle frequent lifting and exposure to loud noises, dust, gas and/or fumes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
