Livestock assistant with experience in agricultural machinery

****Must have a TRUCK DRIVER'S license****

Duties and responsibilities:

Livestock assistant (80% of the time):

- Handle, feed and care for livestock.
- Ensure water is available and cattle are fed the correct amount and type of feed.
- Reproduction - heat detection, donor preparation, recipient preparation, related record keeping.
- Monitor health and welfare of cattle; Recognize and treat health problems; Give antibiotics and vaccinations.
- Perform record keeping procedure manually and use computers.
- Perform other related duties as needed

Farm Equipment Mechanic (20%) time :

- Agricultural equipment maintenance work will include the following responsibilities: maintenance, repair and overhaul of farm vehicles, trucks and machinery. Equipment may include: wheel loaders, tractors, tillage implements/seeding/harvesting equipment and other implements as needed.
- Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders or saws; inspect mechanical equipment for damage, defects or wear; examine and listen to equipment; read inspection reports; tune or recondition engines;
- clean and lubricate equipment, parts or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order to enable proper operation; adjust equipment to ensure optimum performance; adjust vehicle components according to specifications; disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair; repair defective engines or engine components and worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts.

Salary: $ 17.00 CAD - $21 CAD per hours - Depends on the experience

Hours per week = 45 -55 hours per week

Work Experience:

- 2 years' previous experience in preventive maintenance, machine adjustments and harvesting procedures is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of livestock experience required.

Graduado de un curso de mecánica de equipos pesados, o mecánico de camiones pesados o mecánico de maquinaria agrícola.

Language Skills: English Intermediate level (speak, read & write)
