Position Name: Pouch Packer
Department: Pouch
Position Type: Permanent Full Time, Onsite
Hours per Week: 40. Rotating 8 hour shift every 2 weeks from Monday to Friday (Days, Afternoon, Nights) with weekends off.
Pay: $17.60 per hour

Job Overview
A pouch packer is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day production of flexible packaging manufacturing. New team members will be working with highly automated equipment producing a variety of flexible packaging formats. This position follows safety rules and work instructions while fulfilling work orders to achieve consistent quality of finished products. A pouch packer / helper should be a quick learner, have good attention to detail, someone who can be flexible with work areas, and is a team player.
Responsibilities
- Pack finished goods carefully and effectively to ensure best possible products are reaching the customer.
- Sort finished goods carefully and effectively to remove products which do not meet quality requirements or have other defects.
- Print finished good labels and quality labels and correctly maintain production paperwork.
- Read, understand, and follow production dockets closely that outline product composition and operation.
- Inform the Pouch Operator of any deviations, defective materials, or safety issues.
- Removal of production waste and production area clean up.
- Run the machines efficiently while maintaining quality and checking pouches consistently.
- Assist in the operations of various manufacturing machines.
- Assist Operators in all aspects of the production and packaging process.
- Comply with good housekeeping standards and procedures to follow GMPs and HACCP procedures.
- Work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and established rules of the Company.
- Practice secure behavior with regards to equipment and tasks.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience
- Basic math and computer skills is necessary.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Must be flexible working 3 rotating shifts (Days, Afternoons, Nights).
- Safety minded.
- Effective communication skills in verbal and written form.
- Ability to follow directions closely and function as a part of a team.
- Must be flexible working 3 rotating shifts (Days, Afternoons, Midnight's)
- Able to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines
Required Education
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
Working conditions
- Plant setting with manufacturing machines
- Large manufacturing facility, with forklifts and large equipment moving around. Noise up to 80dB.
- Requires certain PPE, such as hairnets, steel-toed shoes, and others as needed.
Physical requirements
- Lifting of up to 50lbs, standing for prolonged periods
