Bar Back

Role Summary

As a Bar Back, you will be more than a support to our bartenders, you will be a vital part of the team, ensuring the bar runs seamlessly while embodying the warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism that define luxury hospitality.

This role requires not only efficiency and organization, but also emotional intelligence: the ability to anticipate needs, adapt gracefully under pressure, and connect authentically with colleagues and guests.

Accountabilities

- Support the team with opening and closing duties, ensuring the bar is guestready at all times.
- Keep the bar fully stocked with garnishes, straws, napkins, and essential supplies to maintain seamless service.
- Ensure bartenders always have access to clean towels, glassware, and garnishes for consistent quality.
- Maintain stock levels of ice, liquor, wine, and beer, replenishing as needed throughout the shift.
- Regularly check beer taps and coolers to confirm proper functionality and report any issues promptly.
- Contribute to a pristine environment by wiping counters, sweeping, mopping floors, clearing used glasses, scrubbing coolers, and managing waste responsibly.
- Monitor and report usage levels to simplify reordering and maintain efficiency.
- Store all delivered items properly, ensuring organization and freshness.
- Create memorable guest moments by offering a warm smile, eye contact, and personalized greetings, using guest names whenever possible.
- Uphold all safety regulations, actively participating in health and safety programs to protect guests and colleagues.
- Adhere to all environmental policies and sustainability initiatives, supporting our commitment to responsible hospitality.
- Embrace flexibility by assisting with additional duties as assigned,



demonstrating teamwork and adaptability.

Requirements

- At least one year of related work experience
- Current Smart Serve Certification
- Knowledge of basic sanitation controls and purpose and use of cleaning supplies
- Knowledge of Marriott sanitation standards, food handling safety and sanitation procedures

Working Conditions

- Must be able to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
- Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces
