The Library Technician position is the primary point of contact for cataloguing, acquisitions, serial and circulation procedures, and delivers customer service to employees and students with excellence, consistency and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

- Acquisitions: order, receive and invoice library material in various formats as selected by the Public Services Librarian
- Cataloguing: load bibliographic/item records for all formats; verify cataloguing; perform original cataloguing as required
- Reserves: maintain the reserves collection
- Serials: order, receive, invoice, claim, weed, renew/cancel serial subscriptions as required
- Alma Reports: year-end Rollover
- Statistics: responsible for recording and submitting various circulation statistics monthly/annually (AAAL)
- Circulation: fines & bills; withdrawn students; patron CSV loads; Rapido ILL retrieving & shipping using the Library Shipping Tool

provide basic reference and circulation services for college clients
- Provide basic guidance for casual staff

Job Requirements

- Library Technician diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with MARC coding, RDA cataloguing rules, and Library of Congress classification and subject headings
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks to meet deadlines across multiple tasks and projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Experience with the following applications/vendors would be considered an asset: Ex Libris, Alma, Primo VE, Rialto, Rapido, PeopleSoft.

Additional Information

This is a Full time Permanent appointment on the Vermilion campus commencing as soon as possible. The current salary range is $51,748 - $65,213 per annum and includes a generous benefit package and pension plan.
