About the Opportunity

We are seeking compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Health Care Aides (HCAs) to join our growing healthcare team serving facilities throughout the Edmonton, Alberta area. Successful candidates will provide high-quality care and support to clients in a variety of healthcare settings, including:

- Acute Care Units
- Long-Term Care Facilities
- Continuing Care Centres
- Supportive Living Residences
- Home Care Settings

As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting patients' physical, emotional, and social well-being while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Provide compassionate care and support to individuals in acute care, long-term care, and home care environments.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation, utilizing safe patient handling techniques.
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and nutritional needs.
- Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff and healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications within scope of practice and according to facility policies and procedures.
- Provide specialized care for individuals living with dementia, cognitive impairments, chronic illnesses, or those receiving palliative and hospice care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment through light housekeeping duties where applicable.
- Foster meaningful relationships through companionship, emotional support, and engagement in recreational activities.




- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications & SkillsRequired Qualifications

- Active Alberta Health Care Aide registration/permit (CLPNA Health Care Aide Directory or equivalent recognized certification).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS), completed within the last 90 days.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel within the Edmonton area and surrounding communities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience working in:
- Acute Care Units
- Long-Term Care Facilities
- Home Care
- Assisted Living
- Continuing Care Settings
- Knowledge of patient care standards, infection prevention protocols, and safe medication assistance practices.
- Experience supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, and patients with complex health needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional, reliable, and client-focused approach to care.
- Physical ability to assist with transfers, repositioning, and other patient handling requirements.
