Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, the ISCT global head office facilitates the interactions between academia, regulators, and the biotech/pharma sector to enable the translation of research into therapies.
The ISCT team is committed to the organization's vision to be the global leader in cell and gene therapy, one of the fastest growing scientific and innovative medical fields today. If you are a driven and ambitious individual who wants to make a difference by supporting the brightest minds in the advanced therapies field, we want to hear from you.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Web Developer reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing and is responsible, alongside the marketing team, for designing, building, and maintaining ISCT's family of websites, including the main Society site, the Institute of Training & Development (ITD) and education sites, and the microsites supporting the annual meeting and regional meetings. Working within ISCT's global branding and positioning, this hands-on role keeps ISCT's properties modern, consistent, integrated and on-brand, and provides clear, impactful presentation of the Society as a global leader in cell and gene therapy (CGT).
The ISCT website is treated as a single connected ecosystem. Everything and anything to do with the website sits with this role: site architecture and design, content build, search engine optimization, lead generation and registration pathways, accessibility, and performance across devices.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, program, and build ISCT websites including but not limited to the main Society site, meeting/conference websites, and Institute for Training & Development website.
- Lead site maintenance, ensuring content and reference information is continually updated and relevant.
- Maintain a standard template for content and pages across all ISCT websites.
- Lead the ongoing refresh and modernization of ISCT web properties, bringing fresh, contemporary design ideas and ensuring a clean, consistent, on-brand experience across all sites.
- Deliver an integrated web presence across the main Society site, ITD and education sites, and meeting microsites, for cohesive user navigation, branding and journeys.
- Ensure all ISCT sites are compliant with accessibility standards, user friendly, and correctly adapted to mobile and handheld devices.
Back end and technical stewardship
- Own the backend ISCT web environment, including CMS configuration, template development, page and navigation structure, and general site troubleshooting.
- Manage integrations between the websites and the platforms they depend on, including registration, membership and CRM systems, enabling dynamic and synchronized updates supporting event and course registration
- Quality assurance for webpage development, ensuring a high standard across links, forms, redirects, branding, load speed and cross-browser display.
Search, findability and lead generation
- Drive search engine and AI search optimization for ISCT web properties, including keyword research, on-page optimization, metadata and content structure, to increase ISCT share of search volume for key terms.
- Build and optimize website lead conversion: landing pages, forms, conversion paths and calls to action across Society, ITD and meeting pages, to facilitate conversion rate from top-of-funnel traffic into enquiries, registrations and members.
- Work with Product Management and Communications to make sure page content is integrated with the search and conversion strategy.
Data and reporting
- Monitor and report website metrics (traffic, sources, page performance, conversion).
- Track and record web metrics monthly using Google Analytics and CMS-based data sources.
- Provide a regular written report on website performance against targets, with commentary on what is working, where the gaps are, and how the gaps will be closed.
- Benchmark ISCT web properties against peer scientific societies and identify improvements the Society should adopt.
General
- Provide exceptional services and a member-focused perspective in delivering ISCT marketing and communications.
- Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the team's success.
- Support other team members as needed.

and maintaining websites within a content management system, including customizing content and templates with HTML, Javascript, and CSS.
- Demonstrated understanding of the back end of a website environment, including CMS administration, templates, integrations and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience in search engine optimization and in building landing pages that convert traffic into registrations, enquiries or leads.

- Thrive in a multi-tasking, team-oriented, and deadline-driven workplace.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and quality.
Key/Unique Qualifications
- A proactive, accountable, and team-oriented individual who can take a web project from brief to a finished, polished result independently, with strong ownership of projects and consistent follow-through.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the discipline to catch and fix the small things (broken links, inconsistent branding, typos) before anything goes live.
- Analytical, creative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize, think strategically, bring fresh design ideas, and deliver at a hands-on level, improving on what exists rather than simply maintaining it.
