Position Type: Board of Advisor (Advisory / Non-employee role)

Commitment: 1 meeting per quarter (2 hours) Term: 1–2 years (renewable)

Purpose of the Board of Advisors: To provide strategic guidance, expert insight, and community perspectives that support the organization’s mission, credibility, sustainability, and impact. Advisory Board members do not hold legal governance authority, but provide recommendations and qualified advice.

Role Overview

The Parent Representative ensures the organization remains grounded in the lived experiences of families and caregivers. This role strengthens family-centered planning and service design by advising on real-world needs, accessibility, communication, and community expectations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide feedback on programs/services from a family perspective.
- Identify gaps or emerging needs that affect families and caregivers.
- Advise on ways to improve communication, engagement, and support structures.




- Participate in quarterly meetings and provide input on planning priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Parent/guardian/caregiver with lived experience navigating family supports or community programs.
- Strong communication skills and confidence sharing perspectives.
- Ability to offer feedback respectfully and constructively.

- Members must disclose any conflicts and avoid participating in decisions where conflicts exist.
