SUMMARY

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic food manufacturing environment by cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, facility areas, and processing tools in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements..

NOTE

- The candidate must be available to work FULL-TIME
- SHIFT: Mon - Thu (10:00PM to 6:00AM) and Sat (06:00AM - 02:00PM)

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, utensils, containers, pails, mixing drums, conveyors, catch pans, coolers, wash-up sinks, and other processing tools using approved sanitation methods and chemicals.
- Clean and disinfect production areas, floors, walls, ceilings, overhead structures, lunchrooms, washrooms, and other common areas to maintain GMP and food safety standards.
- Perform equipment lockout/tagout procedures,



dismantle equipment as required, and complete cleaning and sanitizing activities according to the Master Sanitation Schedule and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals, including detergents, degreasers, and sanitizers, in accordance with WHMIS requirements and company safety procedures.
- Collect, remove, and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and restock sanitation supplies, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Operate sanitation-related equipment, including sky jacks and other cleaning tools, following all safety guidelines.
- Work comfortably at heights when cleaning overhead equipment, ceilings, and elevated production areas during sanitation and changeover activities.
- Maintain accurate sanitation records, checklists, cleaning logs, and inventory documentation.
- Report any food safety, quality, equipment, or sanitation concerns to the Supervisor or Quality Assurance team immediately.
- Follow all company policies, GMPs, cGMPs, food safety programs, and health and safety requirements.
- Wear required PPE, including aprons, face shields, gloves, rubber boots, and coveralls.
- Support production operations by performing relief duties and assisting with other tasks as assigned.
- Attend and actively participate in all required training programs related to sanitation, food safety, quality, and workplace safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous sanitation, janitorial, cleaning,



or food manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of GMPs, food safety practices, and WHMIS is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in wet environments and handling cleaning chemicals.
- Comfortable working at heights and operating a sky jack.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and food quality.
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Standing, and walking
- May require working in various extremely hot and cold conditions, including indoors, outdoors, and working at heights.
- Loud Noise and hearing protection is used at all times.
