About Us

The Maple Staple is a vibrant Toronto-based bookstore and community hub dedicated to championing independent authors and fostering a love for literature. We are currently seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Bookstore and Office Coordinator to join our team.

Position Overview

As our Bookstore and Office Coordinator, you will play a vital role in day-to-day store operations. Acting as a Key Holder, you will be responsible for opening and closing procedures, maintaining a welcoming environment, and ensuring smooth daily workflows. Additionally, you will act as the primary coordinator for office and administrative requests, managing trackers, logistics, and communication with internal staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Store Operations & Key Holder Duties:

- Perform opening and closing procedures as a trusted key holder, ensuring the security and readiness of the store.
- Supervise daily bookstore activities, ensuring adherence to operational standards and maintaining a clean, organized retail environment.
- Handle cash register operations, process sales seamlessly using merchant apps and websites, and update retail book prices as needed.
- Manage weekly-to-monthly inventory tracking, provide regular inventory reports, and handle the full courier receiving process for incoming books and products.
- Coordinate shipments of books, products, and documents to clients and involved properties.

Office & Administrative Coordination:

- Handle administrative tasks related to bookstore operations and meticulously update all operational trackers.
- Serve as the point of contact for office requests,



coordinating administrative workflows between staff and management.
- Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks when operational challenges arise.

Customer Service & Team Support:

- Deliver exceptional customer service in-person and over the phone.
- Support management by guiding bookstore associates and maintaining a collaborative team atmosphere.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Previous experience in a retail, bookstore, or administrative workplace.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail in managing trackers and office requests.
- Reliable and trustworthy, with experience or capability acting as a key holder (opening/closing responsibilities).
- Tech-savvy, with comfort using cash register apps, merchant websites, and office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
