Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bustling café. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, guiding other young team members, managing inventory, opening and closing tasks, fast pace working style, be organised, be able to work in a team, be a team player, empathetic team member, willing to lead the team, available weekends, going above and beyond for guests service, have a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient service in a quick-paced environment. Previous restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel experience is highly valued, along with expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food handling. The Café Manager will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational excellence. SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE MORNINGS.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily café operations, including food preparation, serving, and customer service
- Lead and motivate a team of staff members, providing training and performance feedback
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients and supplies
- Oversee cash handling procedures and operate POS systems such as Micros POS
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Schedule staff shifts and assist in interviewing potential team members
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas
- Monitor service quality to ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly
- Implement restaurant management best practices to optimize efficiency and profitability
- Collaborate with other departments or hotel staff as needed to enhance guest experience
Skills
- FOOD SAFE CERTIFICATE WILL BE A BENEFIT/ADD-ON
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and handling, food safety regulations
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly CLOVER, for cash handling and order processing
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Ability to manage kitchen operations, food handling, and food industry standards
- Leadership qualities including team management, interviewing skills, and conflict resolution
- Experience in restaurant or hotel environments is preferred; barista experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food safety and cleanliness standards
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
