SLI The Sidney Ledson School is a private elementary school, located in the heart of North York. Founded in 1980, the school offers an enriched academic curriculum with a tradition of excellence in learning. Preschool - Grade 6 classes are capped at 8-12 students per class, ensuring individualised learning for every student. The school runs through the year; open for the March Break as well as for summer camp.

The school is currently seeking candidates for a teaching position for the upcoming academic year. The school provides a complete curriculum, lesson plans, and materials.

Qualifying applicants will be required to undergo program-specific assessment and training, after which a final decision will be made on the best-suited candidates for the positions. This is a smaller school with a family-type environment, and social character skills weigh in on this final decision.

Responsibilities:

- Follow the curriculum as outlined by the school (beyond the current Ontario curriculum)
- Provide on-site instruction
- Organise lesson plans for the effective completion of the school curriculum within the academic year
- Support student learning using a variety of methods
- Communicate with parents in an appropriate and professional manner




- Conduct parent-teacher interviews and participate in school events
- Maintain student records and prepare report cards

Skills required:

- Degree, Diploma, or Certification in a field related to Education or Developmental Psychology or equivalent teaching experience
- Experience in teaching elementary-age children
- Experience using / teaching on an online learning platform, preferably Google Classroom and Google Meet
- Fluency in written and verbal English communication
- Good math skills
- Ability to teach STEM material
- Good classroom management
- Good communication
- Patience, with the ability to maintain good rapport with children, parents, and other staff members

Job Types: Part time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $42,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
