The Paint Line Loader/Unloader is responsible for safely loading and unloading products on the paint line using overhead cranes, ensuring products meet quality standards before and after the painting process. This role supports production schedules while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload large and small products from weld cells to the paint conveyor using overhead cranes.
- Inspect products prior to loading to ensure they meet quality requirements.
- Verify that products are completely painted before unloading.
- Operate overhead cranes safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Attach and remove lifting hooks from products.
- Inspect product surfaces before painting and confirm complete paint coverage after painting.
- Mask and unmask threaded areas using protective plugs as required.
- Follow production schedules to meet daily manufacturing targets.
- Support and adhere to 6S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Perform a variety of production-related tasks as assigned.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and protected.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to complete daily overhead crane inspections.
- Experience operating overhead cranes is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, and work on elevated platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and policy violations to the supervisor immediately.
- Report any actual or potential workplace violence or harassment without delay.
- Never remove or disable safety devices unless an approved temporary safeguard is in place, and ensure the original protection is restored immediately upon completion of the work.
- Operate equipment and perform all work safely to prevent injury to yourself or others.
- Follow established safe work practices and procedures at all times.
- Attend all mandatory Health & Safety training (including WHMIS and orientation) and apply the training in daily work activities.
Preferred Experience
- 6 months to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous overhead crane operating experience is preferred.
Education
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Pay: $21.00 per hour
