Position Overview:
Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale healthcare transformation initiative focused on modernizing and standardizing Clinical Information Systems (CIS). This role will work closely with Project Managers, Clinical Subject Matter Experts, technical teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders to analyze current-state environments, define future-state requirements, and support the successful implementation of an integrated Clinical Information System across the organization.
The successful candidate will possess strong business analysis expertise within healthcare environments,
with demonstrated experience leading requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder engagement, workflow design, and business transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis activities supporting enterprise healthcare transformation initiatives.
- Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, clinical, and technical requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
- Perform current-state assessments, future-state analysis, gap analysis, and impact assessments.
- Identify impacted applications, systems, integrations, and downstream dependencies.
- Develop business process documentation, workflow diagrams, use cases, user stories, functional specifications, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support solution design and implementation planning.
- Support Clinical Information System (CIS) implementation, consolidation, upgrade, migration, optimization, and replacement initiatives.
- Coordinate application changes across internal teams, third-party vendors, and clinical stakeholders.
- Analyze workflows and data exchanges between clinical applications and downstream systems.
- Prepare readiness assessments, configuration workbooks, cutover documentation, governance materials, and executive status reporting.
- Identify, document, and communicate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Support governance committees through presentations, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Business Analysts where appropriate.
- Participate in the maintenance and operational support of existing Clinical Information Systems as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading Business Analysis activities on large-scale healthcare and/or government transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Requirements elicitation and management
- Business process analysis
- Workshop facilitation
- Workflow and use case development
- Gap analysis
- Impact assessments
- Functional and technical documentation
- Solution design support
- Minimum 3 years of experience working directly with clinical stakeholders including physicians, nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, allied health, and operational leaders.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements through interviews, workshops, workflow analysis, user stories, and use cases.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. French is considered an asset.
