Job Title: Cost Analyst
Location: Halton Region, ON
Job Type: Temporary
Salary: $35.00-$42.00/hour
Work Model: In Office

Our client in Halton Region, ON is actively looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team.

Job Responsibilities:

- Analyze variances between actual manufacturing costs and standard costs.
- Investigate and report on variances related to finished goods, raw materials, labor, and production activities.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), standard instructions, and product cost structures within the ERP system.
- Administer and maintain new product setup processes within ERP and supporting systems.
- Prepare production-related journal entries and assist with month-end close activities.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analysis.
- Participate in inventory counts, cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Partner with Plant Management on operational initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Provide ongoing analysis to support decision-making and enhance plant performance.
- Identify process improvement opportunities related to reporting, costing, inventory management,



and financial controls.
- Provide backup support and cross-functional assistance to the finance team as required.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills:

- Experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or plant accounting environments preferred.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- CPA designation or enrolled is a nice to have
