Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Shop Helper / Machine Operator to join our fabrication shop. This is a hands-on role for someone who is willing to learn, work safely, and support daily production.

The position includes operating basic shop equipment, helping machine operators, measuring parts, reading basic drawings, and keeping jobs moving through the shop.

Duties

- Operate band saw and other basic shop equipment
- Measure, mark, and prepare material for production
- Read basic blueprints/drawings and follow work instructions
- Help the laser operator with loading/unloading material and parts
- Assist with deburring, grinding, sorting, and organizing parts
- Move material safely around the shop
- Support general shop cleanup and organization
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies





Qualifications

- Basic shop or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools
- Ability to read basic drawings/blueprints is an asset
- Any previous machine operation experience is an asset
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to learn
- Able to lift and handle material as required

Assets

- Band saw experience
- Forklift experience
- Laser/press brake/CNC machine experience
- Metal fabrication or welding shop experience
