JOB DESCRIPTION – EXPERIENCED EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

Our Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced excavator operator to fill a seasonal full time opening, with potential for year-round employment. Competitive wages with opportunity for a comprehensive benefits package. Wage $28-36/Hr.

Responsibilities

· Report directly to Site Foreman

· Participate and engage in daily Tailboard meetings, identify hazards and assist in crew compliance to safety policies and regulations

· Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s safe work procedures

· Conduct equipment inspections, and accurately complete daily logs of equipment maintenance.

· Perform safe excavations and trenching, accurately cut grade and load trucks

· Ability to read and understand survey stakes

· Required to fuel and grease equipment daily

· Keep work area and equipment clean

· Proactively communicate with site foreman and co-workers





· Communicate using a radio in compliance with provincial radio protocols.

· Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required and in compliance with office standards.

Qualifications and Skills

· Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience with references

· Valid class 5 driver’s licence

· Must be personable, able to work independently and as a team, and must possess strong communication skills

· Experience using laser levels, and/or reading site plans an asset

· Experience operating various machines from excavators to skid steers an asset
