About Staffing has partnered with several private equestrian properties in and around Calgary to support the hiring of experienced and aspiring Equine Attendants (Grooms). We are actively recruiting for several opportunities, including both part-time and full-time positions with weekday, weekend, and mixed schedules available.
These opportunities offer the chance to work in private barns caring for horses in hands-on, professional environments where attention to detail, reliability, and a genuine passion for animal care are highly valued. Depending on the property, responsibilities may also include supporting barn operations, preparing horses for travel and competitions, assisting with property maintenance, and caring for additional animals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Daily horse care including feeding, turnout, blanketing, grooming, and health monitoring.
- Cleaning stalls, maintaining barns, paddocks, arenas, and surrounding grounds.
- Cleaning and maintaining water systems and feeding equipment.
- Preparing horses for veterinary and farrier appointments.
- Assisting with loading, unloading, and transporting horses.
- Supporting horse shows, competitions, and travel when required.
- Ordering and organizing feed, bedding, hay, and barn supplies.
- General barn, tack, equipment, and trailer maintenance.
- Providing care for other farm or household animals where applicable.
- Assisting with property upkeep and additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Formal equine education or horsemanship training is considered an asset.
- A genuine interest in continuing to develop equine knowledge and horsemanship skills is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Clean criminal background check.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Comfortable working independently while taking initiative.
- Ability to safely handle horses in a variety of environments.
- Experience operating or willingness to learn to operate trucks and horse trailers is considered an asset.
Experience:
We're interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- Private barns, boarding facilities, breeding farms, training facilities, or equestrian centres.
- Daily horse care and stable management.
- Young horses, breeding, or foaling experience.
- Horse transportation and show support.
- General property or farm maintenance.
Candidates who have grown up around horses or recently completed equine-related education are encouraged to apply.

- Solid horsemanship and animal handling skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and accountable.
- Organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and seasonal demands.
Base Salary: $20-25/hr
- This is an hourly position based on experience and qualifications.
- Some flexibility in scheduling may be available depending on operational needs.
Work Hours:
Multiple schedules are currently available, including:
- Full-time and part-time opportunities.
- Monday through Friday positions.
- Saturday and Sunday positions.
- Roles that include a combination of weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and occasional holiday coverage.
Additional Notes:
- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
