Position: Barista / All-Rounder

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Barista / All-Rounder to join our team.

The ideal candidate has strong professional barista skills, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced café and bakery environment. This is an all-round position that includes preparing beverages, serving customers, operating the POS system, handling food and bakery products, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the team wherever needed.

Key ResponsibilitiesBarista & Beverage Preparation

- Professionally prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, and other specialty drinks.
- Prepare teas, cold beverages, and other drinks according to our recipes and quality standards.
- Properly operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other beverage equipment.
- Maintain consistency in beverage quality, presentation, temperature, and portioning.
- Demonstrate knowledge of our coffee, tea, and beverage offerings and confidently answer customer questions.

Customer Service

- Greet every customer warmly and provide friendly, professional, and efficient service.
- Create a welcoming experience and build positive relationships with regular customers.
- Take customer orders accurately and communicate orders clearly to other team members.
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash, debit, credit, and other approved payment methods.
- Respond professionally to customer questions and requests.
- Promptly report customer complaints or service concerns to the manager on duty.
- Take proactive steps to prevent service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Answer telephone calls courteously and professionally and assist customers with general inquiries when required.

Bakery & Food Service

- Develop strong knowledge of our French bakery, pastry, and café products.




- Introduce and recommend bakery and pastry products to customers.
- Serve breads, croissants, Danish pastries, desserts, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to company standards.
- Handle, package, and present food products carefully and professionally.
- Ensure customers receive accurate information about available products and menu items.
- Follow all food-handling, hygiene, and safety procedures.

Store Operations & Team Support

- Maintain an efficient, organized, and friendly service environment, especially during busy periods.
- Restock cups, lids, milk, coffee, food products, packaging, and other supplies as required.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organization when requested.
- Monitor product availability and notify the manager when items or supplies are running low.
- Follow opening, closing, and shift procedures as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with baristas, servers, kitchen, bakery, and management teams.
- Perform additional duties reasonably assigned by the manager to support daily café operations.

Cleaning & Food Safety

- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift.
- Regularly clean and sanitize espresso machines, grinders, counters, equipment, tables, floors, and other work areas.
- Follow the established daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
- Assist with garbage removal and general café cleanliness, including washrooms when required.
- Follow all company food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and operating procedures.
- Immediately report equipment problems, operational inconsistencies, accidents,



or potential safety hazards to the manager on duty.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a professional barista and/or café server is preferred.
- Previous hands-on experience operating a commercial espresso machine is required.
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and milk steaming techniques.
- Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Professional, positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards.
- Ability to remain organized and productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities during busy periods.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and additional hours when required.
- Willingness to learn and follow company recipes, procedures, and service standards.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

- Stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
- Frequently use hands and arms for beverage preparation, food service, cleaning, and handling equipment.
- Safely work around hot beverages, hot equipment, and food products.
- Bend, reach, carry, and perform routine cleaning duties.
- Regularly lift and move items weighing up to approximately 15 lbs (7 kg).
