Team Leader/Team Lead in Training Job Overview
Reporting to the Manager, the Team Leader/Team Lead in Training is responsible for Client's wellbeing and overseeing the daily operations and management of the Family Options Residence including:

- To observe, assess and supervise each client's day-to-day behaviours and goal attainment and to assist in the development of the clients individualized care plan that ensures successful goals, growth, healthy experiences and measured outcomes of positive change
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the residence staffing team in conjunction with the Supervisor
- Maintain sound knowledge and understanding of persons with disabilities, and their unique needs and required care supports

Responsibilities and Duties – In conjunction with the Supervisor:

- Direct, maintain and control all client program and administrative operations for the residence
- To ensure, develop and/or review and implement all clinical programming for clients and the residence overall
- Comply with all Family Options policies, procedures and directives and all relevant legislation related to client care and services
- Assist in the creation of the client's individualized plans of care and ensure staff are working with the clients on their goals identified. Assist and submit with client's money management and reporting including receipts and documentation
- To monitor and maintain any performance standards of all program staff and to make recommendations of improvements in client care to the Manager or Director of Services for continuous improvement
- To ensure, develop and/or approve all developed clinical programming for clients while in care, and the program overall
- To represent Family Options and the program to agency workers,



the social services community, families and the community in a professional manner at all times
- Ensure that all Developmental Support Workers are trained in aspects of their required roles and expectations
- Ensure clients records and documents are current and reviewed and filed for accuracy
- Ensure ISP/BP reports are submitted to the compliance department on time and reviewed before they are sent
- Complete regular supervisions and Annual performance for employees you directly oversee
- Submit and approve Staff time sheets to payroll per payroll schedule.
- Review work schedules monthly to ensure coverage and or any changes are completed required.
- On-call duty as required
- Ensure the program expectations and the program philosophy is maintained through direct day-to-day involvement with clients, staff and contracting agency
- Establish and direct regularly scheduled staff meetings and ensure documentation via minutes
- Review all active/closed files, fire logs, medical logs etc. monthly
- Perform all other assigned duties as directed by the Manager or Director of Services
- Maintain and nurture ongoing healthy relationship with the contracting agency in accordance with the highest standard of skilled excellence.
- Represent Family Options in a professional manner and adhere to confidentiality policies at all times

Required Qualifications:





- A post-secondary education in social sciences
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in the field, one (1) of which in a supervisory capacity is preferred
- Solid working knowledge of related legislation, including QAM requirements, computer literacy and valid crisis intervention training and
- Valid driver's license, clear drivers abstract and car available for work purpose with automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars. Excellent communication and written skills and the ability to problem solve and skilled in conflict resolutions and promoting team environments

Physical Effort Required to Perform the Job: *

- Ability to actively participate in scheduled social recreational activities.
- Ability to provide physical management of behaviours clients may exhibit
- Some lifting, bending and stair climbing for household maintenance and general day-to-day management, includes clearing pathways/entrance of snow similar to a home environment
- Assist in the preparation of meals and daily upkeep and living conditions of the home
- Assist clients where needed in hygiene and or bathing protocols

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour

Experience:

- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
- developmental support: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
