Position Overview

Are you organized, fun, energetic and outgoing? Join our team as an Event Host and play a key role in delivering exceptional birthday experiences for families of the Westshore. This position provides an energetic, creative, and fun atmosphere for participants in a safe and healthy environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, communicate professionally and positively with parents, staff, and children, exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving problems.

In addition to excellent wages, we offer an additional 14% in pay, per hour, in lieu of benefits; access to counselling; a staff facility pass which provides drop-in access to the weightroom, fitness classes, skating, pool,



as well as the ability to play on our 9-hole golf course.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

- Ensures multiple birthday parties are supported and provides excellent customer service to each group.
- Must be able to adapt to new and changing situations and people with tact and diplomacy.
- Imaginative and flexible personality required to ensure a fun environment for participants.
- Be able to problem-solve, prioritize, and work with other people to seek solutions.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications

- Preference will be given to applicants who have post-secondary training in recreation, youth, childcare or a related discipline.
- Emergency First Aid certificate and CPR level C is required.
- Demonstrated experience working with preschool and school aged children in a recreation or equivalent setting.
- Demonstrated experience with communication, customer service, and public relations.
- Demonstrated experience multi-tasking, with strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to problem-solve, work independently, and seek solutions.
- Ability to contribute as an effective team member, and work with other departments for support.
- Ability to follow established safe and healthy standards.
