Global Mining Products / GMI Wheels is a Langley, BC-based off-highway / mining wheel manufacturer looking for a CNC Machinist with 3 years or more work experience to join our machine shop team, producing some of the largest wheels on Earth!

The CNC Machinist programs and operates our milling and turning machines based on technical drawings, fulfilling work orders set by the Production Scheduler and Shop Manager. The Machinist is capable of working independently and with minimal supervision, running multiple machines as necessary, and adapting their workflow to meet changing needs and timeframes.

Starting wage is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Job Duties:

- Independent setup, programming and operation of 3 axis milling machines and large vertical lathes




- Finished part inspection to ensure dimensions and specifications match technical drawings.
- Working effectively within timeframes set by the Production Scheduler and Shop Manager.
- Operating in compliance with our ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Maintaining work area cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications:

- 3 years or more of CNC machining experience including setup, programming, and operation
- Knowledge and application of typical precision measuring devices.
- Capable of reading reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working around large, heavy steel components in a typical, fabrication and manufacturing shop environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- Good listening skills.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Excellent Punctuality and Attendance.

Nice to Have:

- Experience within a machine shop and steel fabrication environment.
- Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.

Shift Information

- Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Overtime when available but not required

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $24.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
