Position: Full-time Overnight Night Support Worker Flex (Vacant Position)

Location: SIL/TAY. Location may change based on Association’s needs

Hours: 45 hours per week. Hours must be adaptable to meet the needs of the team and the people receiving support.

Salary: Starting from$52,097.76 plus benefits as per Association Policy

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Arts/Psychology, Community College Diploma in Developmental Service Worker/Social Service Worker or related University or College degree in Social or Health Science.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience supportingpeople who have a dual diagnosis, addiction challenges, physical challenges, medical challenges, visual impairment, autism, dementia, or Prader Willi Syndrome is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

- Be familiar with and consistently apply the principles of Community Living York South with respect to the Mission, Values and Policies and Procedures.




- Work independently and collaboratively with teams to coordinate supports and resources with people receiving services.
- Providing supervision to the people supported including but is not limited to hourly bed checks and health and safety checks within the house.
- Understand, adhere to and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans and strategies, assisting people to enhance their quality of life.
- Coordinate supports and provide direct supports for people with intellectual disabilities to attain their chosen outcome goals, foster relationships, develop skills and enhance the quality of their lives.
- Coordinate and facilitate Individual Support Planning, documentation and achievement of personal goals and outcomes
- Empower people supported to make informed decisions and choices and advocate with the family, community, businesses or schools to support the desired outcome
- Support people to participate, as independently as possible, in all activities of daily living, including their personal hygiene, dressing, and eating meals. For people who have a physical disability and required support for personal hygiene and care (including bladder and bowel continence, and controlled acts).
- Assist people supported with movement techniques, repositioning, use of transfers, and lift equipment, provide bed baths, etc. A moderate level of physical effort is required for regular household duties (lifting, bending, pushing and pulling).




- Participate in all aspects of running a household/program such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation and medication administration.
- Support people to access and take their medication in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Complete all administrative duties as required.
- Attend and participate in all team meetings
- Strong listening, observation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning, organizing and time management skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
- Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated collaborative approaches to providing quality services. Able to work successfully in a team.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, email, access the Internet).
- First Aid/CPR, and designated Physical Restraints Training Program Certificate
- Have a clear Vulnerable Persons Reference Check (dated within the last 6 months external applications only).
