Role Description This full time remote role is for a Family Law Lawyer serving clients in the Niagara Region, ON. The role involves advising clients on a wide range of family law matters including separation, divorce, custody, access, support, and property division. Day-to-day tasks include conducting client consultations, drafting and reviewing separation agreements, parenting plans, court materials, and other family law documents. The lawyer will negotiate on behalf of clients, participate in mediation and settlement discussions, and, when necessary, represent clients in the Superior Court and Ontario Court of Justice. The role also includes maintaining organized files, managing deadlines, collaborating with support staff, and ensuring clear, empathetic communication with clients throughout their case

Qualifications





- Licensed to practice law in Ontario in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, with demonstrable experience in Family Law.
- Someone who can run their own files from start to end with little oversight
- Strong knowledge of Ontario family law statutes and procedures, including issues relating to custody, support, and property division.
- Proficiency in legal research, drafting pleadings, agreements, affidavits, and other family law documents.
- Effective negotiation, mediation, and advocacy skills, with experience managing settlement discussions and court appearances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear, compassionate manner.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment when dealing with sensitive, emotionally charged matters.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a remote environment.
- Comfort with remote practice tools and legal technology, including video conferencing platforms and digital file management systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and support staff.
- Prior experience representing clients in the Superior Court and Ontario Court of Justice is an asset.
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and collaborative family law, is considered an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
