Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to concrete installation, finishing, and much more. Your expertise will contribute to building durable structures, ensuring safety standards, and delivering high-quality results on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with concrete shop slabs, custom curved and straight retaining walls, and much more.

Duties

- Prepare construction sites by setting up forms, scaffolding, and reinforcement, such as rebar installation, to support concrete pouring.
- Finishing Slabs
- Operate equipment, such as compactors, screeds, and power trowels, safely and efficiently to facilitate concrete placement.
- Mixing, shovling, and spread concrete using hand tools and power tools, ensuring proper consistency and finish quality.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing surfaces, caulking joints, and applying sealants for a polished look.
- Conduct restoration work by repairing existing concrete structures through patching, resurfacing, or replacement.
- Use carpentry and masonry skills and various hand tools to support diverse construction activities related to projects.

Qualifications

- Proven construction experience with a focus on concrete work or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.




- Mechanical knowledge of tools and equipment used in concrete forming, finishing, and restoration processes.
- Ability to read a tape measure and make proper cuts as needed
- Skilled in rebar installation, concrete forming techniques, and flooring installation.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting in office challenges.
- Willing to learn other skills and take on other tasks like framing, drywalling, electrical, and the odd roof

We focus mainly on concrete work, but we are also certified Red Seal carpenters and electricians, so we need someone who is willing to do other things as well. We cannot have anyone who refuses to do or try new things, or who has a poor attitude when we do work outside our concrete work.

Please note that this job doesn't always have year-round work. Sometimes we have work for only 10 months a year, so you need to be aware that we may have you go on EI once the slow season begins. We will always bring you in as small indoor or off-season jobs come in.

Pay: $23.00-$45.00 per hour

Education:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

- Trade: 2 years (preferred)
