Your future role on our team

As the leader of our Mont-Saint-Hilaire office’s Civil and Structural Engineering department, you’ll ensure all the team’s operational needs are met. You’ll be responsible for departmental talent development, performance, technical excellence and sustainable growth. You’ll work closely with project teams in various disciplines and BBA leadership to help your team use resources optimally and achieve the office’s goals.

Located in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, the BBA head office is the heart of our operations and a hub for many shared services. It’s also home to the Big E, our energy centre of excellence. Driven by a strong collaboration culture, the head office catalyzes interoffice teamwork by enabling rapid resource mobilization and effectively helping to implement key projects nationwide and internationally. Department management and leadership

- Engage, mentor and develop managers and team members
- Promote collaboration across offices, disciplines and departments

- Develop expertise, innovation and best practices

Help promote the department both internally and to clients

Resource and performance management

- Help meet productivity, quality and growth targets
- Support excellence in strategic project implementations

- Keep a balanced portfolio of OPEX and CAPEX projects

- Promote client, market and mandate diversification

Coordinate and optimize resource use

Technical excellence – Civil and structural engineering for hydropower

- Provide technical leadership to the Civil and Structural Engineering department in complex hydroelectric infrastructure projects

- Support teams on projects involving major hydroelectric structures, including dams, dikes, spillways, intakes, headrace and tailrace canals, penstocks, tunnels, galleries, power plant buildings, equipment foundations, retaining walls, access structures, and other related structures

- Promote knowledge sharing and technical coaching





- Be a reference point for clients and internal teams to showcase the department’s expertise on high value-added mandates

Talent development

- Support employee recruitment, onboarding and retention
- Help develop skills and the next generation

- Prepare and implement succession plans for key positions

Assist department managers with leadership

Business development

- Support activities aimed at business development and identifying strategic business opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers, client account managers and sales teams

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients

- Act as a health, safety and environment ambassador

Summary of certifications and job requirements

- Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Recognized technical expertise in energy sector civil/structural engineering, with proven experience in hydroelectric and industrial infrastructure

- Significant experience with structures such as dams, dikes, spillways, intakes, canals, penstocks, tunnels, galleries, power plant buildings, equipment foundations, concrete and steel structures, retaining structures, and other related infrastructure

- Proven experience managing teams, developing talent and mentoring technical leaders

- Business development and client relations experience





- Ability to exercise leadership and influence people who are not direct reports in a matrix-based context
