Jackson Masonry is seeking experienced Journeyman and Apprentice bricklayers / stone masons and General Labourers to work in Calgary and surrounding area. Requirements:

- Completion of post secondary education and Journeyman certificate
- Enrollment in the Apprenticeship program (Apprentices)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail with a commitment to quality
- Strictly adhere to the company safety program and best work practices
- Candidates must have own transportation to work sites

Specific Skills (Journeyman):

- Interpret drawings and blueprints and calculate materials required
- Knowledge of properties of various mortars and other bonding materials
- Install building envelope membranes, sheathings and insulation
- Prepare and lay brick, stone, block and other masonry materials to construct structures such as walls, partitions, patios, arches, fireplaces and chimneys
- Operate power tools, masonry saws / mixers, and Forklifts
- Ability to train and mentor apprentices

Specific Skills (Apprentices):





- Interpret drawings and blueprints and calculate materials required
- Knowledge of properties of various mortars and other bonding materials
- Install building envelope membranes, sheathings and insulation
- Mix mortar and concrete
- Wash constructed masonry with masonry cleaners
- Erect, dismantle and load material on scaffolding
- Prepare and lay brick, stone, block and other masonry materials to construct structures such as walls, partitions, patios, arches, fireplaces and chimneys
- Operate power tools, masonry saws / mixers, and Forklifts
- General site clean up when required

Specific Skills (General Labourers):

- Knowledge of properties of various mortars and other bonding materials
- Install building envelope membranes, sheathings and insulation
- Mix mortar and concrete
- Wash constructed masonry with masonry cleaners
- Erect, dismantle and load material on scaffolding
- Operate a variety of power tools, masonry saws / mixers, and Forklifts
- General site clean up

Work Conditions:

- Indoor / outdoor in all weather conditions
- Physically demanding and ability to handle heavy loads
- Working at heights

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
