The North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance (NSWA) is seeking a Watershed Restoration Project Coordinator for a three-year contract position leading the implementation of a three-year watershed restoration initiative in the Vermilion River watershed. This position combines project management, field work, stakeholder engagement, and community outreach. You'll work directly with agricultural producers, municipalities, and project partners to identify opportunities for natural infrastructure projects that improve watershed health while supporting productive agricultural operations.

As the Watershed Restoration Project Coordinator, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of this threeyear initiative by building relationships, coordinating restoration projects, and ensuring successful implementation of the project. Your responsibilities will include:

Producer Engagement

- Build working relationships with agricultural producers in the Vermilion River watershed.
- Meet with landowners to discuss restoration opportunities and project objectives.
- Encourage participation through practical, team-oriented problem-solving.
- Serve as the primary contact for participating producers.

Project Coordination

- Coordinate restoration projects from initial planning through implementation.
- Schedule site visits and field assessments.
- Work closely with municipalities, partner organizations, and technical specialists.
- Coordinate contractors where required. - Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

Outreach and Education

- Organize producer field days and demonstration events.
- Coordinate workshops and community presentations.
- Develop educational and promotional materials.
- Share project successes through newsletters, social media, and partner communications.

Project Administration

- Track project budgets and expenditures.




- Prepare progress reports for funding agencies and project partners.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
- Assist with procurement and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) where required.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

- Degree or diploma in environmental science, agriculture, natural resources, watershed management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the project area.

Experience with one or more of the following would be considered an asset:

- Agricultural extension or producer engagement
- Riparian restoration or watershed management
- Natural infrastructure or conservation programming
- Project budgeting and grant administration
- Contractor management
- GIS or mapping software
- Graphic design or communications software
- Workshop or event facilitation

Location and Work Environment

​This position primarily serves the Vermilion River watershed, with regular travel throughout the project area to meet with agricultural producers, municipalities, and project partners.



Applicants who reside within or near the watershed are strongly encouraged to apply. Flexible work arrangements are available, with periodic meetings at the NSWA office in Edmonton. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required to support workshops, field days, and community events.

Compensation and Benefits

- Three-year full time contract (37.5 hours per week).
