Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Dental Assistant/Floater to join our team. This role provides clinical and operational support throughout the practice by assisting dentists and hygienists, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and helping ensure a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
- Take and process dental radiographs
- Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
Sterilization & Infection Control
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments according to infection prevention protocols.
- Maintain operatories and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Monitor inventory of clinical supplies and notify management when reordering is needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and IPAC standards
Floater Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for dental assistants, hygienists, or front desk staff as needed.
- Assist with patient scheduling, confirmations,
and administrative tasks when required.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Help keep common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Qualifications
- Dental Assisting certification or diploma
- Previous dental assisting experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of dental software is an asset.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization protocols.
