Job Summary

Adeksa Healthcare is a successful vendor for Manitoba’s Emergency Staffing Resource Services program. We are currently recruiting 10 qualified and dependable Driver Support Workers who are ready to pick up available shifts in Winnipeg.

The Driver Support Worker will use their own insured vehicle to pick up clients from their homes, transport them safely to day programs, appointments, community activities or other approved locations, and return them as scheduled.

This is a casual, on-call position with shifts available for qualified candidates who submit all required documentation and complete the screening process.

Key Responsibilities

- Pick up clients from their homes and transport them safely to approved destinations.
- Drive clients to and from day programs, appointments and community activities.
- Provide respectful, compassionate and professional support during transportation.
- Assist clients when entering and exiting the vehicle when required.
- Follow transportation schedules, client support plans and safety procedures.
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality.
- Report delays, incidents, safety concerns or changes in a client’s condition.
- Keep the vehicle clean, safe and suitable for transporting clients.
- Follow Manitoba driving laws and organizational policies.
- Remain available and respond promptly when offered shifts.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Previous experience as a Driver Support Worker, Direct Support Worker, Health Care Aide, Community Support Worker or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s licence.
- Access to a safe, reliable and properly insured personal vehicle.
- Clean or acceptable driving record.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.




- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Robust communication, time-management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with children and adults with diverse support needs.
- Must be dependable, punctual and available to pick up shifts.

Required Documents

Applicants must be prepared to submit clear copies of the following:

- Current resume
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed within the last three months
- Child Abuse Registry Check completed within the last three months
- Adult Abuse Registry Check completed within the last three months
- First Aid and CPR certificate completed within the past two years
- Driver’s abstract completed within the last three months
- Copy of MPI vehicle insurance showing $5 million in third-party liability coverage for the vehicle being used
- Valid Manitoba driver’s licence

Prior Contact Check

After all required documents have been received and reviewed, arrangements will be made for each successful candidate to complete the required Prior Contact Checks.

Compensation and Vehicle Use

- Pay rate: $19.00 per hour
- Casual and on-call shifts
- Workers must use their own insured vehicle
