Job Description:

The senior scientist will be responsible for the supporting the development of new vaccines and biotherapeutics. Tasks will include:

- Developing new DNA vaccine constructs, including:
- - Developing DNA sequences for cloning
- Molecular Cloning
- Modification of bacterial genomes

- Purification and analysis of DNA constructs




- Maintaining accurate records of experiments
- Analyzing data.
- Work independently
- Creating in silico constructs
- Independently clone using standard restriction enzyme protocols, Gibson assembly, and golden gate cloning
- Creating and validating primer sets
- Understand molecular biology background to optimize protocols and develop novel sequences
- Preparing SOP’s, validation protocols and reports
- Preparing/presenting project updates as required.
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:

- Relevant M.Sc. or PhD with 3-5 years experience.
- Experience with molecular cloning is required
- Experience working with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented and valuable organizational skills.
- Experience working in vaccine development would be considered an asset.
- Proven track record of innovation
