Bridge City Veterinary Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Office Assistant (VA/VOA) to join our growing team.
This is a full-time temporary position providing maternity leave coverage, with an anticipated start date of late August/early September 2026.
Bridge City Veterinary Rehabilitation is a locally owned practice offering both general veterinary medicine and certified rehabilitation services. We are passionate about providing exceptional patient care while building lasting relationships with our clients. About the Position
This is a diverse role that combines reception, client communication, patient support, and clinic maintenance. No two days are the same, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
As one of the first people our clients interact with, you'll help create a welcoming experience while coordinating appointments, supporting our veterinarians and RVTs, and keeping the clinic running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and patients with a friendly and professional attitude
- Answer phones, emails, and client inquiries
- Schedule appointments for both general veterinary and rehabilitation services
- Assist veterinarians and RVTs during appointments as needed
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient care
- Process payments and perform reception duties
- Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, rehabilitation equipment, and kennels
- Laundry, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized clinic
- Assist with inventory and general clinic organization
- Lift and move patients, equipment, and supplies as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Office Assistant in a veterinary clinic is required.
- Experience with veterinary practice management software, appointment scheduling, and client communication is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements
This position is physically active and requires the ability to:
- Lift and assist patients weighing up to approximately 50 lbs independently, with team assistance for larger patients
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements
- Move patients, equipment, and supplies safely throughout the clinic
