Construction Site Supervisor (Hands-On)

Springhill Construction is seeking an experienced, hands-on Construction Site Supervisor to lead and actively participate in RTM (Ready to Move) home and commercial construction projects throughout Northern Manitoba communities. This full time role requires regular travel, including overnight stays, based on projects needs. Overtime may be required to meet project schedules.

This is a hands-on supervisor working position. The successful candidate will lead crews, subcontractors and suppliers while performing skilled carpentry and general construction work as needed. The ideal candidate brings extensive residential construction experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to completing projects safely, on schedule, and to high quality standards.

The successful candidate will receive full company-paid benefits after 90 days.

Rate of Pay: Depending on Experience

Key Responsibilities:

Site Leadership & Construction:

- Supervise and actively participate in RTM home and commercial construction projects.
- Lead employees, subcontractors and suppliers while working alongside the crew.
- Perform skilled carpentry and general construction work as needed.
- Coordinate daily site activities to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Organize work plans and resolve site issues.
- Maintain an organized, productive and professional job site.
- Attend weekly construction meetings.

Safety & Quality:

- Promote and enforce Springhill Construction’s safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct site orientations and daily safety meetings as required.
- Ensure work complies with Manitoba building codes, applicable regulations and quality standards.
- Inspect work at each stage to ensure quality and schedule requirements are met.
- Maintain responsibility for site safety, personnel, equipment, materials and job-site security.

Project Coordination:

- Schedule and supervise subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate material deliveries, verify orders, and ensure tools and equipment are available when needed.




- Communicate project progress, issues and deficiencies in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete deficiencies and punch-list items before project closeout.
- Remain accountable for the project through final completion and sign-off.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Extensive hands-on residential construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Foreman or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices and Manitoba building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Proficiency with construction hand and power tools.
- Excellent organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working with both experienced and new labourers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, regularly lift up to 50 lbs, and work through all phases of construction.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in remote or Northern communities is considered an asset.
- A reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.
