Class 1 Driver & Agricultural Machinery Operator
Allam Farms Partnership (AFP) is a successful, family-owned grain farm established in 1949. We farm in Strathcona and Thorhild counties from two main locations near Fort Saskatchewan and Redwater, Alberta.

This position requires regular travel and work at both farm sites. Approximately 65% of your time will be spent at our north location near Redwater.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a dependable, capable, and mechanically minded individual who can take responsibility for trucks, grain equipment, and large farm machinery.
This role is best suited to someone who is:
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding work for extended periods.
- Available for long days and changing hours during seeding & harvest.
- Quick to learn, able to think independently, and confident making practical decisions.
- Organized, safety-conscious, and committed to completing work properly.
- Capable of taking initiative, directing tasks, and helping lead.
- Interested in building a long-term career in farming, machinery, and mechanical maintenance.
Agricultural experience is strongly preferred. Applicants must be able to demonstrate practical experience—not just an interest in farming—with heavy trucks, trailers, farm machinery, equipment maintenance, or mechanical repair.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain highway trucks and Super-B grain trailers.
- Operate large grain augers, tractors, combines, and other heavy farm equipment.
- Complete equipment inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Troubleshoot automotive, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Assist with general farm work & grain handling
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating highway trucks and grain trailers.
- Experience repairing trucks, trailers, farm equipment & construction machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills & ability to work long physically demanding hours
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work at both the Redwater and Fort Saskatchewan-area locations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Comfortable using technology such as maintenance-log systems & group chat
