ROLE SUMMARY:

A Junior CNC Machinist has the unique opportunity to contribute to customer success in working with engineering, recent product development and manufacturing, to model, design, trouble shoot and create solutions. A Junior CNC machinist operates and programs CNC machine, sets up production and ensures quality control. They are responsible for ensuring that parts are produced precisely to specifications by reading blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, and performing quality checks. This role involves technical skills in machining and programming.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Machine operation and programming: Program, set up and operate lathe, 3 axis and 5 axis mill CNC Machines, strictly following instructions, job specifications and blueprints. Create Solid Works models to be used as technical drawings and operate hand tools.

· Quality control: Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet strict specifications and tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.

· Process improvement: Contribute to the optimization of machining processes, workflow, and tooling to improve efficiency and quality.





· Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC machinery. Keep machine clean, perform minor maintenance as needed, and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

· Collaboration: Work with engineers, quality control, and other departments to ensure production goals are met.

Skills:

Programming, setting up and operating lathe, 3 axis and 5 axis mill CNC Machines (5 years)

Intermediate knowledge of 3D modeling using SolidWorks.

Intermediate knowledge of Electro Discharge Machine (EDM EB 304B) would be an asset.

Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate as a CNC Machinist or Mechanical Technologist with CNC Machinist Certificate of Achievement is preferred.

High school diploma or the equivalent is required.

Mastercam Mill, Lathe, Multiaxis

Challenger MM800 2 Axis Mill (Fagor).

HAAS ST10Y Live Tooling Lathe (Haas Control).

Hermle C600u 5 axis mill (heidenhain 530i).
