Position Overview:

VETS Sheet Metal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sheet Metal Apprentice in our fabrication shop. You will work closely with experienced professionals to learn the ins and outs of sheet metal fabrication. This is a hands-on role.

Responsibilities:

- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components, including HVAC ductwork and custom fittings, from shop drawings and specifications.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as brakes, shears, rollers, and plasma tables safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Measure, cut, bend, and assemble materials while maintaining high quality standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area.




- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Participate in apprenticeship training and continuously develop your skills.

Qualifications:

- Registered Sheet Metal Apprentice.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in fabrication and construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings, or a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, dependable, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and working in a shop environment.
- Must possess, or be willing to obtain, required safety certifications (CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, etc.).
