This is a casual role for a Registered Nurse (Certified) at Port Alice Health Centre (PAH) in Port Alice on Vancouver Island, BC.
Shift Start Time/End Time: 08:30-16:30
This position does have a call component Sunday 2100-0830, Monday - Thursday 1630-0830
What You’ll Do
As a Remote Certified Primary Care Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care across the lifespan, including health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management, acute and emergency care, and the treatment and palliation of illness and injury.
Working both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will assess patients, plan and evaluate interventions, coordinate health services and support individuals and groups throughout the remote community. Care is client-centred and responsive to the community’s cultural values, with the goal of helping people achieve and maintain their best possible health.
Travel may be required, and some assignments may require the use of a personal vehicle.
What You’ll Need to Apply
- Remote nursing certification or eligible for Remote Nursing Certification to be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN(C) registrant.
- Three (3)
years' recent related experience; knowledge of available programs and services, their interrelationships, and their function in delivering care in the community; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Basic Life Support, Level 'C' certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma nursing core course or equivalent.
- Completion of STI certification preferred.
- Valid Driver's license
