Part-Time Gelato Scooper & Barista

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and customer-focused Part-Time Gelato Scooper & Barista to join our growing team!

Our café is located at a busy, high-traffic intersection, so we're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can provide exceptional customer service while maintaining efficiency during busy rushes.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 months of experience working in a cafe or gelato shop (required)
- Valid Food Handler Certification (required)
- Valid Smart Serve Certification (required)
- Flexible availability to work morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and positive attitude
- Ability to multitask and remain composed during busy service periods
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable

Duties & Responsibilities

- Serve gelato and other café offerings with enthusiasm, professionalism, and attention to presentation
- Operate our POS system to process orders and payments accurately
- Assist guests with menu recommendations, answer questions, and confidently upsell products
- Maintain consistent gelato portions and presentation standards
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures at all times
- Keep the scoop station, display case, and customer areas clean, stocked, and organized
- Prepare beverages,



desserts, and other menu items as required
- Restock products and supplies throughout the day
- Work efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining accuracy and excellent customer service
- Support teammates with opening, closing, cleaning, and other daily operational tasks

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 months of experience working in a cafe or gelato shop (required)
- Experience using POS is considered an asset
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment where multitasking is essential
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Barista or café experience
- Experience creating and serving specialty drinks
